City and Guilds Level 5 Certificate in Primary Care and Healthcare Management - 4419-06 instalments 1 of 8

Specifically designed for existing and aspiring managers working, or who wish to work in primary care or in a health care environment.

The AMSPAR Certificate in Primary Care and Healthcare Management is designed specifically for deputy managers in general practice and is included in the National Qualifications Framework.

Whilst the qualification is purpose-built for Primary Care the contents cover key management skills that can be transferred to a variety of environments. The Certificate in Primary Care and Healthcare Management provides the learner with a vital stepping stone on their way to senior management.

The qualification is open to existing managers and potential managers in a health or social care environment. Candidates must be educated to level 2 standard or should have a background that will enable them to benefit from the qualification. Candidates who are unable to fulfil the entry requirements, but who have suitable healthcare experience in any field, may be accepted onto the course providing they can find an informal attachment to a local General Practice.

About the course:

The Certificate is awarded on the achievement of 22 Learning credits which will be gained by completing the following units:

• 601 Managing Medical Ethics and Legal Requirements- 6 credits
• 602 Financial Management and Budgeting in a Primary Care Health Environment- 7 credits
• 603 Managing Information and Communication in a Primary Care Health Environment- 5 credits
• 604 Developing and Leading Teams to Achieve Organisational Goals and Objectives- 4 credits

The course is offered as a 60-week programme with full mentor ongoing support throughout the course.

This is delivered fully via distance learning.

This course is to be completed within 24 months or further fees will be charged.
